Question regards to the Nemeth Mi-17

I have a small favour to ask to my fellow simmers. I love Russian helicopters, and I think I want to buy Nemeth Design's Mil Mi-17. But one thing that bothers me is that it has got a lot of specular shine on the model, and I would like to reduce it, but I don't know if the model will open with MDLMat so I can edit the shine. I am afraid to buy it and find out that it's not possible.

If someone has this helicopter already and MDLMat, if it's not an inconvenience, can someone verify if the programme can open the model correctly? That's all I need to know.

If anyone can help, I will be very grateful! :salute:

I didn't attempt to make any adjustments, but it certainly appeared to have opened the model correctly. Hope that is enough info for you, let me know if you need me to do anything else.

You may already have it, but Vladimir Zhyhulskiy's Mil-8 with SteveB's and Zoltz's repaints is a great freeware alternative.
cheers ian

I had problems when trying to alter the Mi-17 using the shine utility ( avail from soh archive), it just couldn't alter the model.

It's a good sign that it can open it, I think it will work. I think I'll maybe buy it now. Thank you all for your help!

The Mi-8 of Vladimir Zhyhulskiy is great (I have it) and with SteveB's beautiful paints it's a masterpiece, but I also had wanted to have Nemeth's because of deep simulation of the systems, which I liked a lot in their other products.
