Question to CFS2 aircraft designers here

Hi,

Let me start by saying that I frequent the FSX forum here and are a freeware scenery developer for historical sceneries, like FSX Solomon 1943 ( see http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...ad.php?t=41182 ) . We have a lot coming for historical sceneries and aircraft over there, and this expecially for the PTO in the moment. What we desperatly need are japanese aircraft, and unfortunatly there are very few to come by in FSX.
My idea was to port some of the very good CFS2 designs that are designed in GMAX to native FSX models, for use as pilotable aircraft, AI and static models as scenery objects.

Now, I understand that there are differences in the design itself (e.g. damage model), and I would love to have a working GMAX CFS2 project (with retractable gear) for my own educational research, to proof it is possible to convert a CFS2 aircraft or not. I have GMAX with the FSX SDK, and have some knowledge about GMAX.

My question would be, could a CFS2 a/c designer here imagine letting me use a souce file for learning how cfs2 aircraft are designed and determining the differences and convertability to FSX?

You can rest assured, I won't "steal" the designs or release anything or do anything without the authors permission, and if a future port-over would succeed I would hand the fsx model over to the original designer for him to release it himself, if he wishes to do so. My only determination is to see some more contemporary japanese (or other interesting) models in FSX.

Thanks for taking your time to read this,
Mark Schimmer
