quick tip needed for carrier landings

I've seen this in certain models too B24...and even when AI don't use visible modeled flaps, they all still respond to any changes made to flap settings in the air file. Too much pitch or lift and they'll put on quite a comedy in landing cycles...all kinds of weird effects.

Progress....

Actually, I have been doing better with trimming...I trimmed the Thanksgiving turkey, I trimmed the Christmas tree, and I trimmed my nose hair and toe nails. And I have been practicing trimming out a plane....just having problems figuring out where to hang the ornaments. OBIO

...is progress! I take it all back! He's trying! :ernae: :costumes:

Postulate....

...as you wish, but if you drop your flaps and slow to just above stall speed on landing, watch what happens to your wingmen.

There may be a couple of aircraft that are exceptions, but I've never seen one. :friday:

I just tested...

...the Hellcat and B-24 as AI wingmen. You are correct that these two aircraft (unlike the most) will deploy flaps visually. However, the Hellcat wingmen land at the same speed with or without flaps deployed. Therefore the flaps must be only visual, and are not affecting flight characteristics. :banghead:

When I tried the B-24, the wingmen did deploy flaps, but pulled them in along with the gear on final and declined the opportunity to land??????? I have no idea what's happening with that. :isadizzy:

Wheels within wheels within wheels........:friday:

Scott Johnson did a mod to allow belly landings.

I have found when all else fails, install his mod and land wheels and flaps up and you don't blow up!:friday:
