R.A.A.F. and USAAC PNG auto-installer versions released!

Hi,

Thanks for the help with the Nell, John. (Blood_Hawk23)

Going through the final stages before running the auto-installer program, I realized that some of the missions require the A-24 Banshee. Talon gave me an Army skin for the A-24 Banshee, and so I replaced the stock bombs with DBolt's versions.

Not a bad mash-up, if I say so myself. She'll be in the new RAAF campaign package.

Stefano, any chance you could whip up a prop texture for her?

Talon had the DP already done with DB weapons for the A-24. It was not the stock SBD but the freeware FDG SBD5. He had it in his RAAF 75th Squadron.

The Bookie,

He gave it to me well before he used it in that campaign. I forgot about that, thanks!

Royal Australian Air Force - Part I.zip

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Campaigns Add-Ons

Description: This is Part I of the Royal Australian Air Force campaign package. In the first package, you will find nearly all the aircraft, sounds, and repaints required for this campaign. Please note that I also use in numerous other 1941-1942-era Pacific campaigns. The aircraft included in this package include the aircraft and repaints of the Donationware team, Bismarck13, The Virtual Navy, Stuart Green, The B24 Guy, Thicko, Krystof Malinowski, Morton, Kelticheart, Dombral, Wolfi, Bruno Duffort, Yashico, Akemi, and the Virtual Wings team. Engine sounds by Lawdog2360, Blood_Hawk23, the Virtual Wings team, and Blondi have also been included.

This campaign package release is actually a combination of three parts, woven into two campaigns. For the Australian side, the missions entitled "Defense of Australia" are a converted CFS1 campaign by Mauro Giacomazzi, fully updated for CFS2 using the newest airbases, aircraft, and other items. The missions entitled "Royal Australian Air Force" are the original missions from "In Defense of Australia" campaign, fully updated for CFS2 in the same fashion. The third and final portion is a series of seven carrier-based missions written by the now-deceased-but-not-forgotten Talon that chronicle some of the sorties flown by the US Navy in this time period. This campaign update would not have been possible without the excellent work of the original designers of "In Defense of Australia."

The Australian side contains two dynamic campaigns that allow you to play twenty-one of the twenty-nine missions, or twenty-six of the thirty-six available for the Australian side. Playing the Australian side will allow you to fly as part of RAAF 75th Squadron, trying desperately to defend Port Moresby from the Japanese onslaught. These missions will cover bombing and strafing runs on airbases, escorting USAAF and RAAF bombers, and repeatedly defending the skies of Port Moresby from the Japanese. Your performance in these missions, coupled with elements of random chance, will provide a different experience each time you fly the campaign.

The Japanese campaign is fourteen missions, thoroughly updated as the Australian missions are. However, this campaign remains in the original condition. For the Japanese, you will often fly on fighter sweeps and defend your airbases from attack by RAAF fighters as well as USAAF bombers, while also escorting Japanese bombers on bombing missions over Port Moresby. As always, this has been also been updated by using newer airbases, aircraft, and objects to enhance and modernize what is already a great campaign package.

Good morning,

I finished and re-released the Royal Australian Air Force campaign as an auto-installer. Be aware that there are several modifications to it.

1) I included the Yashico "Pete" in the campaign, on the condition that the R.A.A.F. campaign package is not uploaded somewhere else. Please keep your eyes out for it on pirate sites.

2) The same applies for Rhumbaflappy's Africa and South Asia water package. Many thanks to Kdriver and Hewman100 for keeping a copy of it for me to include.

3) All scenery has been included, and the GSL files for the airfields have been slightly modified to remove any AA guns, aircraft, or vehicles left in the gob entries.

Dasuto247, if you need to use this campaign as a reference for how to build an auto-installer, I will be happy to guide you through the process.

Lastly, and perhaps the most important, enjoy! :very_drunk:

What a great gift to the community. THANK YOU Rami. Even though I have the original version (flown twice) I'll rush to D/L it and give it a try again. :applause:

Thanks...but I made a boo-boo!

Good morning,

Thanks for all the compliments! I did notice an issue when I was in the process of packaging the second campaign. I thought that Morton copies over the VC entries for all his panels, but found out that I was mistaken. I will be updating the package.

However, for those who already downloaded it, you do not need to do so again. Just replace the panel.cfg files in the affected aircraft with these.

Papua New Guinea campaign - Part II.zip

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Campaigns Add-Ons

Description: Welcome to the Papua New Guinea campaign package! This campaign is almost an American Army Air Corps extension of “Defense of Australia,” in that it picks up just before the departure of the RAAF. In this campaign you will be continuing to defend Port Moresby, but you will also be going on the offensive, attacking bridges, landing forces, convoys, as well as escorting bombers and transports. You will also get to fly from Milne Bay during the period of the Japanese invasion there. However, you might very well be sick of the P-39 by the time you’re done with the campaign!

Due to this, it is imperative that you gain permission from all parties before uploading this file package to a location other than www.sim-outhouse.com. Good evening,

Lest you think I'm trying to show off, these two campaign packages are closely linked and use the same scenery, as well as many other commonalities. Ergo it was really easy to set up these two installer parts after uploading the R.A.A.F. campaign package.

Enjoy!

Thanks Rami

Hi Rami,

This is very, very useful.:applause::applause::applause:

I should be able to have a good Pacific Set-up, without worrying about missing bits and pieces.

Thanks Lots and Lots.

Cheers,

Stuart

Rami

Been AWOL for a while.
Are these to loaded in a PTO using your usual scenery installation as modified for PTO, I think, by Kdriver?

Rami
Well I knew there was a PTO setup done by someone else and I had it, just had not looked for it yet and did not remember the author.
Thanks much! :applause:

Rami, first off all, thanks for all your fantastic campaigns. I will make a comparison witht the two men going by car to the supermarket, the first one will use a lot off time, waiting for a free parking space, close to entrance. The other do not give a dime for parking far or close from the entrance. I am the last
type of man, allways park as far away from entrance as possible and walk, it gives me good exersize. True, my wife says that I am crazy. maybe thrue??
I love your campaigns for many things, among them is to go though the "readme" and one by one pick the different aircrafts, objects, ships and sceneries.
This is a really big thrill for me, and later on install them, if it takes a day or a week to do so,I do'nt care. Of course, I do not down-load the items every time, I just look in my enourmous library. Rami just go on with the exe.campaigns, I am sure many will be happy, but as a pensionist of 75, I have all time needed.

Killer Svend,

I will do the European campaigns as I complete all the GSL scenery. Still a ways to go there. But the Pacific ones (Dutch East Indies being the last) should be completed this week.

Thanks for the support, this is indeed high praise. :triumphant:
