Radeon settings hints re best settings

Having always had Nvidea cards before, I yesterday purchased a Radeon RX580 with 8GB VRAM, largely based upon various reviews and cost in relation to the 1060. I notice there are subtle differences in the display in FSXSE, it is more vibrant e.g. than my old Nv660Ti.

Can anyone suggest specific FSXSE settings for this card? Or point to a good website. Thanks muchly. :encouragement:

Anybody got experience with P3Dv4 and / or XP11 using this card?

I'll post mine up tomorrow, meantime look at the Radeon settings, you will see there will already be a FSX profile under game settings, youll need to disable (uncheck) that
before creating your own profile.

I have the same card. These are my settings. I turn off anisotropic and aliasing in the sim, and let the Radeon setting take care of it for better frame rates.

I have these settings for FSX and Global (if enabled the application profile will override the Global profile)

OK thanks for input, runs great, no more pfaffing about with Nv Inspector. Hurrah! :applause:

Yes I turned off edge detect.

I was always told that edge detect would ruin frame rates, trying to smooth out clouds ?

True for older cards, less so for newer cards / integrated GPU like my R7 and up. Amd changed the way it works so that all anti aliasing is based on the edge detect algorithm.
