yeah it got finished but was lost before i could get it uploaded, will do it again at some point.... :salute: will have to see if i can get access again.... sods law.....

EDIT: Just found my base layout! will add it to the Queue after Bramcote
 
other than the Hanger and control tower, its difficult to make out spacific buildings although theres deffinatly a complexe of nissan huts just to the right of the hanger, looks a little like the Cross of Lorraine,
If you save the pic to desktop and run it through your paint program, ive got PSP7, give it just a hint of Sharpen and get in real close, the details pretty good.

yeah i spotted those Nissens...

update on the layout thanks to Ians find.... see attachments, got the base roads in (Mostly), looks like a Squadron HQ 200m 'North' of the T2, perhaps a flag/parade square a bit further on....
 
Indeed better, I'm sure it will keep getting so.

And yes Credenhill is what I meant. Would like to see that too.

yeah MM, my grandfather did a short spell there in the late 40's early 50's if i recall, he always called it RAF Credenhill.... but yeah it was RAF Hereford long before 22 regiment got their grubby mitts on it...

anyway back to Nuneaton.... making a few scenery Objects.... first up.... Quonset hut! (and yes the door is actually modelled on and it's still only 162 polys), still gotta add the windows....
 
another update.... building now baked, as there's not many quonsets i've given it a bit more detail, going to make the Nissen huts next, and yes once complete i'll get these out as an object library for you :salute:
 
ok texturing is well underway.... working at 2048*2048 currently, but will resize once finished.... heres a sneak peek of the textures.....
 
Yep! But no beta or thoroughly than me though, and don't worry about your pet parrot; I'll feed him free! :icon_lol:

almost forgot... the parrot needs feeding :icon_lol: hopefully have some of the buildings on by the weekend and will send you the files.... some are going to be best guesstimates but we'll get there right? :icon_lol: According to Andy the layout works with FSGlobal, Default and FSGenesis with no craters so that means i must've done something right... right? :icon_lol:
 
well the Flag is now flying high over RAF Nuneaton :jump: just one of those little things that can boost ones Morale and give me reason to keep going :salute:

another change is to the ICAO was UKN2, but after talking with AndyG we went for EGNN, and i also added an NDB to the field for you old style navigators....

That's some very high quality modelling work indeed. Proud of you.

Incidently, if you're not happy with runway and surrounds definition, you can always pull the stops out and do those in GMax too.
It can make for incredible realism. Runways can be built up in textured layers.
 
been planting some foliage, trying to make sure everything i use is in that EZ-object pack on flightsim.com (ezoliv33.zip) or i make myself.....
 
yet again.... more foliage planted and AFCAD refined.... also flew in midwinter and with snow to check the place when it snows....
 
Work on the tower is going well.... here she is so far..... not sure whether to add the stairs yet... especially after the windows have been put in...

still plodding away on this tower :D nearly there with shaping now.... just to reiterate that top piece... the VCR (Visual Control Room) is now on top of Duxfords tower, was taken from Nuneaton in 1986 :)
