January clear-out 2026

RAF Rochford
RAF Wick
RAF Llandwrog

I had a request for Rochford to add to my collection of Battle of Britain stations in the library, but as I have a bit of time on my hands, I thought i'd clear out a couple of other stations i'll probably not finish. see read-me for details

RAF Llandwrog

I had a request for Rochford to add to my collection of Battle of Britain stations in the library, but as I have a bit of time on my hands, I thought i'd clear out a couple of other stations i'll probably not finish.

Rochford was originally a WW1 RNAS station then a flying club inter war. It became a reserve airfield for Hornchurch during the BoB, and became Southend airport after the war. This scenery is based on a 1941 map, I don't think the hangars were constructed in summer 1940 but I thought id include them anyway.
Traffic file is included, using the same aircraft as Gravesend, but ive included then in this scenery if you haven't got the one.
look for "Southend EGMC" in airports

Wick on the east coast of Scotland was mainly Costal Command and photo reconnaissance. If you have my Tirpitz scenery installed, maybe you want to try a flight over the north sea in a PR Spit. No traffic im afraid.

Llandwrog was a training airfield on the north Wales coast in the shadow of Snowdonia, I visited here in Sept while camping in the area and with a good mesh is a great place to fly. RAF Mountain rescue was developed in the area, in bad weather the mountains claimed many aircraft and pilots.
look for "Caernarfon EGCK" in airports
There is a traffic file for UncleTgt CFS2 conversion of Dave Garwoods Avro Anson, Its an RAF Mona based Anson which is a few miles north on Angelsey island
find it in CFS2/British aircraft---

Objects needed, you probably have all these but just to recap---

RAF Manston. https://sim-outhouse.org/sohforums/resources/raf-manston-1944.666/

Ted Andrews lib. https://sim-outhouse.org/sohforums/resources/ted-andrews-raf-building-library-zip.4444/

If you up to date with my Battle of Britian or Bomber command airfields, you should have everything, happy new year

Well thank you very much! You should have a 'clear-out' more often...ha ha. Much appreciated.

I could learn something from that........;)

Cheers

Strange that things have come full circle at Llandwrog/Caernarfon.

The home of RAF Mountain Rescue during WW2,it's now the home of one of the Coastguard helicopters(S-92 "G-MCGJ).
