Rain Effects

if you mean in the Virtual Cockpit. It has to be built into the model. Most FSDS 2 and some Gmax planes do not have this feature as it is rather difficult to do.

It actually isn't hard to do in gmax. Just import the entire heirarcy up to but not including the Interior helper object (if you have created it already) from the sample Jenny model included in the 2004 SDK. Copy your windshield objects, apply the same textures as those used on the Jenny parts, and link them to the same helper objects in the hierarcy. Then delete the Jenny parts. The textures for VC Rain are included with FS2004. (VC Rain also works in FSX; but the textures may not be included; installing them makes it work.)

The end result is the same as building the heirarcy from scratch following the directions in the SDK documentation. The only trick I had to learn when making VC Rain for the Early Fairchild Series was rotating the gizmo object under the UVW Modifier so the rain droplets streamed in the right direction. (They stream opposite the direction of the yellow handle in the gizmo modifier.)
