Rami Status

Two of CFS2's old farts, together again...

Good evening,

Devildog73 and I happened to be close enough in time and space to meet, as he was coming down from Superior, WI to Madison, WI. Tomah, WI is about 110 miles each way from Rochester, so we met and enjoyed a meal. This is the first time we've met face-to-face since late December-to-Early January of 2011-2012, when he was still in Germany at the Robinson Barracks in Burgholzhof, Bad Cannstatt, Stuttgart, Germany.

Worth every minute of the drive; it's nice to have friends where you can just pick up where you left off.
:wiggle:

CrisGer and others,

Many thanks for your support. I also wanted to pass along an update...

The surgery went well, and I spent a couple of hours in recovery, following the dilation procedure.

However, I have known during each surgery that there was about a 1-in-5 risk I had to accept that something could go badly wrong. This time, it almost did. During the procedure, I began to clot up, and Dr. Bjarnason had to deal with it during the operation. That's precisely why I come to the Mayo Clinic. I am fortunate that God doesn't want a stubborn *** like me causing trouble up there, (I'm presuming) because if this clot had gone to my heart or my lungs, I might not be here to write this.

I know this might be upsetting to read, but I felt it important that you know. I hope you understand this.

I am also happy to report that when I am due for an ultrasound in September, Dr. Bjarnason has agreed to allow me to have it done at Mass General, so that I do not have to come here for it.

As of right now, it looks like December might be the next round if they have to do another dilation.

I will spend some time with family resting and recovering, and will return home in the early afternoon on May 23rd. Good night to you.

Peace and love to all.

My dear Friend Rami, I had a feeling i should check on you yesterday and found this thread. I am so glad the operation went well. Yes we always know the risk. but it sounds like you came thru with flying colours. i had a clot myself on one of my nine operations. The on duty nurse was less than par and didnt notice my leg turning blue. Well a buddy of mine, a lady who is an instructor pilot for Jet Blue and flies the East coast route noticed as she was visiting. She was in her full uniform and she took charge and i was in the operating room in 15 minutes and they saved my life. I love pilots even more now. take care do what they tell you do NOT bend any rules elevate and do all you can. I am facing similar challenges to you. Go forward Boldly with Caution and Faith. Cheers Chris

Good to hear surgery went well. Now take some rest and enjoy some quality time with your family.
And I assume you will go home on the 23 of June (must be the anesthetic :biggrin-new:)

Cheers,
Huub

Good evening,

It doesn't appear to be happening soon, I am still dealing with bleeding from my neck and a hematoma; even twelve days after the procedure. I am considering going into Boston to have them take the stitches out, look at my neck, put the stitches back in correctly this time, and start over.
