Rare Bear

I remember seeing a Rare Bear repaint for either the VS F8 or a freeware Alpha Bleu Ceil Bearcat. Can't remember. They are for FS9... I haven't seen any for FSX and I have not tested the FS9 textures in FSX. I'll dig around and let you know.

the bear is so highly modified it wouldnt make much sence to put it on a stock airframe would it?

Some racing-Bearcats of the past, in less-modified configurations than Rare Bear, that might make for some great subjects, applied to a stock-airframe:

Re: Same

Found this at Flightsim it's for FS9, sorry.

FS2004 Grumman F8F Bearcat "SuperCat". In 1956 Grumman experimented with the last 26 Bearcats off the production line. These special 26 F8F-2, Bearcats called "SuperCats" received major modifications to the R-2800-30W engine and increase the horsepower from 2250 hp to over 4500 hp. Of these 26 aircraft only three survived. You are the lucky private owner of #24. This aircraft was rumored to have been clocked at over 615 mph by Navy test pilots in 1956 over the Nevada test range. Based on BEARCAT3.ZIP by Michel Migaud, Jean-Pierre Langer, Jean-Pierre Bourgeois, Benoit M. Dube, Marc Hardouin. Mods by Aaron Penn.

Maybe the author could do them for FSX, could'nt hurt to ask.

Even though it's a highly modded frame, the white and gold paint scheme on Rare Bear does the Bearcat
justice....real purty!!:icon_lol:
