What Operating System are you using?

Does it stop you from restarting CFS2?

Which mission where you flying when it happened?

What circumstances caused the CTD - when in the flight did the crash occur?

I know CFS2 can occasionally CTD due to memory leaks - the reference to the damage.dll starts to suggest a target object DP issue (maybe), but without specifics, who knows?

Or it could just be a random occurrence, this prog is sooooo old!!!!

im running win 7 , cfs2 starts fine but when starting a campaign mission it'll ctd.........the mission is the one when going against betty bombers / and the taking out the barges.......

Seriously, if you can't be bothered to give details, don't be surprised at the lack of responses to your request for help.

If CFS 2 starts, its likely to be something borked in the install.

Assuming it's one of the Henderson based missions...

Can you fly your chosen plane from Henderson using Free Flight?

If not, choose a stock plane & try to fly from Henderson. If that works, it's something wrong with the plane you're trying to use.

Did you download Captain Kurt's WIN7 panel patch for his new F4F Wildcat?

WIN7 & later OS really don't like the 1024 x 768 bitmap format 2D panels that so many planes come with. Often it causes CTD on loading...

It would be helpful for Uncle TGT if you would post the mission numbers you are having issues with .Although I have not flow all the missions in VMF -121, I have flown several and have not found a issue it those particular ones. Of coulse, I cannot tell you which ones I have flown as it has been a while back.
