RealAir Spitfire

Those Spitfires are sensational!! That is such a great model, and you can never have too many repaints for it. I downloaded them all!!
Was wondering if Jan Kees would give any thought of doing the Museum of Flight's MK923?? That airplane was flown during the Normandy Invasion, and like so many others, went to the Dutch before ending up in Belgium. The "survivor" was later in the Movie "The Longest Day" and owned by actor Cliff Robertson. It was flown at Airshows by the legendary WWII RAF pilot Jerry Billing across the US and Canada for so many years. The airplane was a regular flyer until the last owner did not want to restore the originality of airframe and donated it to the Museum of Flight. It is just a beautiful airplane that I was lucky enough to see fly a few times before she was put away for History's sake. Still a stunner even sitting in the Museum.

I thought about it, but had a squadron mate already on my to-do list, 'Kay' of top Rhodesian/Greek ace John Plagis:

and the aircraft of 'ace on his first day' Bob Audet:

after all those camouflaged Spitfires, I thought I'd try my hand at a metal version. Here's my first attempt:

Spent most of today working on alpha's and spec's, and there's still quite a few errors to sort, so I'll tackle it again tomorrow. If you have any comments, I'd be happy to take them into account.

Very nice work as usual Jan Kees.

(Still catching up on downloading all your RA Spitfire repaints).

One thing you might want to do is remove the 'rogue' rear access door that is on the port side of the fuselage, from the bump map.

(Marcel Ritzema did this for his repaints I seem to recall).

Cheers

Paul
