realism 110?

Why does the highest realism setting read 110%?

With everything realistic, except for groundfire on normal, I get 100% realism, yet when I turn groundfire to realistic I get 110%. What's the reason behind that.

Second, I noticed that realistic groundifre makes it suicidal to try and fly low over any kind of enemy trenches. I can imagine how relatively easy it would be to hit a low, slow biplane with massed machine guns, so I'm not saying it's to hard. I'm only worried about how the AI deals with it? Do they try and go as fast as possible at low altitude? I haven't flown any ground attack missions yet, so I don't know how the AI acts in these situations. Does the AI have some sort of go home code, upon receiving damage or fuel shortages?

Good Rule of Thumb

Machine Guns over trenches .. stay above 1500 feet

Machine Guns Defending Balloons, RR's, airfields . . stay above 2000 feet ( same gun, different mount)

By 1918, 2000 PERIOD

Anti-Aircraft cannon, you can't escape them, they've the range PERIOD

Below 10,000 feet, fly straight for 15 seconds, near the target. . you're a dead man

In 1916 they used conventional cannons pointed up. By 1918 it was meant just for you :ernae:

I guess, the devels wanted to gives us 100 % reality for just the air combat and the overall plane and flight settings.
The AA can really spoil it all in a sec, so many people, who are otherwise up for 100 % realism, switched it on medium or low (or how it was called).
Maybe, that's why they put that bit of realism outside of the 100 %.

We agree in getting killed in dogfights or by a surprising ace attack - but ground fire? Horror!

There are a number of combos of settings that will give you 100% and then up to 110% - lucky you!

Yes - but AI in 1.2 is again improved...

It was DAMN hard - pilots died in numbers that were disastrous from any angle.
