Still, I'm surprised that such a popular plane has never received a better model than Kirk's one.
Sure the F-16 variants made by Kirk look very good, externally. But the virtual cockpit is less functionnal than the default Cessna :/
There are some gauges at least, but you can't click anything.
It's really a pity, because that same F-16 has a detailled set of 2D panels, and when a virtual cockpit hasn't 3D switches, it's quite easy to "copy-paste" a 2D subpanel on a part of virtual cockpit. Unfortunately, if I understood correctly the 3D layout of Kirk's Viper won't allow that...
Still, I'm surprised that such a popular plane has never received a better model than Kirk's one.
I've said that before on other forums and got reamed, but its true...for such an international plane that is seen and revered by so many, I'm surprised it hasn't been recreated more so than what has been discussed.
I've attempted to re-generate the VC, change the resolution to have gauges appear more sharp, but it refuses to cooperate. Any ideas on that? Look at the HUD in the panel, then in the VC (both at 1024 X 1024 res)...and it just looks like hamburger. I've brought in other freeware crisp HUD's and still, they loose all their sharpness in the Kirk O' falcon VC...I don't get it.
I see the updated cockpit.
But I still prefer the Japanese brother, the Mitsubishi F-2. One of the greatest virtual cockpits ever made for FS9, and a beautifull exterior model. I just wish they were some photoreal repaints for this fantastic bird...
