It has just been announced that the Red Arrows RAF display team are to get replacement aircraft.

The decision on exactly which aircraft will be made over the next couple of years.

Word on the street is that 13 Mk9 Spitfires from the Strategic Reserve Deep Storage Facility at Faslane were seen being loaded onto a small freighter which later turned up in the river Ribble at Preston dock. Destination is rumoured to be the apprentice school at BAe Systems, Warton where 10 drums of red and white paint were delivered last week. They will be delivered to RAF Scampton in 2 years unless the
F-35 proves unsuitable for naval operation. In that case the RN will get 13
red and white Spitfires for HMS Queen Elizabeth and the Reds will get the cast off F-35s.
My source has never been known to be wrong as long as he keeps off the waccy baccy.

hahahahahahahaha:biggrin-new:

13 red and white Spitfires is probably the 'proposed' number. In 2 years time, it'll be down to 3!!:very_drunk:
