Redheads and Motorcycles

Hey All,

I know most here can't relate to redheads and motorcycles. :bump:

The songs below are two renditions of the great song "52 Vincent Black Lightening" (the bike in the pic).

Here is the original as written and performed by Richard Thompson.

Here it is as performed by Reckless Kelly

Which one is better?

In my opinion the version by Reckless Kelly is the only rendition of this song I have ever heard that is better than the original and a lot of people have "covered" this song.

By the way - what the "hey" (you know what I'm saying) happened to the great British Motorcycle (Norton, BSA, Triumph, etc) industry. I remember in high school wanting a Triumph so bad I could taste it.

PS On a personal note it is high time I spent 3 days in early to mid-August in Challis Idaho at the Braun Family Reunion. Reckless Kelly is led by two of the Braun Brothers and the other two brothers lead the band Mickey and the Motorcars. They are the 4 sons of Muzzie Braun. I hear Challis is a good time. Asleep at the Wheel joined them last year. Here is a video which includes 3 of the 4 brothers.

Up until about a month ago I was making payments on a Triumph Rocket III, not the old BSA Rocket III, but the newer Triumph version, 2300cc's of pure power 140 HP and 155 lb ft of torque.

Got a picture here somewhere of me on it.

Trumpet is still alive and doing quite well, check them out on the inter-web.

Oh, in case you are wondering I am no longer making payments on the Rocket III, because it now resides with the Repo-man.
