Redneck Glider

Video's hilarious, and scenery is awesome! :ernae: What is the scenery, anyway??

It is the A2A Accusim Piper Cub: http://www.a2asimulations.com/store..._id=36&zenid=aad416291a362db98115e7d036067df2 . Is an excellent bird that I have in my hangar. All he did was strike the prop on the ground to break it, and destroy the engine. Then it looks like that. Most people like myself repair it, and go back to flying. I never thought to use it as a glider. Going to have to try this myself now once my current engine gets worn down.

Video was hilarious though!! At first I wasn't sure what it was going to be based on the title, but I did not expect that. Very well done, and creative. :icon_lol:

Thanks for the comments. I had forgotten how nice the A2A Cub is, and those Burkhardt repaints are just astonishingly good! I really think A2A should buy those and ship them as stock.

I fly the Cub occassionally. I am more in to the warbirds, and longer flights. It is fun to fly the Cub though every now and again. It is especially useful for modifying airports, and dabbling in scenery creation like I am now. I must say though as many times as I have cut the engine in flight only to nose dive so it restarts I never thought of using it as a glider. :icon_lol: I'm going to have to check out some of these repaints. I am still flying around the stock yellow bird. Been slowly working on repaints myself, but learning to paint on a complex bird leaves a lot to be desired.
 
Wow those look really good with the rust and all. Being an AM my number 1 enemy is corrosion, and I don't think I could fly my Piper Cub like that. :icon_lol: Worn paint is good, but I have done to much corrosion control in my life to sit there and stare at it while flying. The whole time thinking how I should treat and preserve the metal before it gets worse. Those guys did a fantastic job though as it looks very realistic. Can tell they spent a lot of time making sure the dirt and grit were in all the right places too.
