[RELEASED] Rara-Avis Robinson Redwing

SOH-CM-2023
Amusingly, I first joined Sim-Outhouse because it was the best place for me to find out about new classic aviation releases for MS flight simulators. Now it feels like I'm the guy finding them all and posting them. Is it because it's 20 years later and y'all are all dealing with retirement budgets now? :)

At any rate, @full at Rara-Avis Sims stealthily released a new one that I'd seen no hype about (other than him mentioning four years ago that it was in the works!), the Robinson Redwing.

Gonna have to pick this up! I have all of his other planes and they're all fascinating to fly and have a ton of attention to both visual and flight model detail. (I skipped the Colditz Cock because I'm not a glider guy, but the EE Wren is great when you want to fly low and REALLY slow.)

Only downside is that I think that he might be releasing FS2024-only planes Marketplace-only.

If you want to read the reaction to the Redwing when it hit the market, this is a fun snapshot of that moment in history…

Very nice. I hope it finds its way off the marketplace someday.
At the moment, it will be Marketplace only. I know a lot of people like third party stores, but the time it takes away from actual dev work to get all the packages ready for 3rd parties just doesn't work for me at the moment, out of all the other places I could sell fs.to is probably the easiest, what are everyone's thoughts on said store?

Thanks
Craig

First, thanks for making such lovely addons and for visiting us here at the Outhouse.

Second, I've purchased several things from fs.to. I'd love any of your work offered there. Alternately, if sticking with the Marketplace-only approach, a very nice gesture would be to release a .psd paintkit or a repaint from your site or fs.to so that those of us without the knowledge or talent to use Blender or Substance Painter can still play with the liveries.

The main reason I don't purchase from the MP very often is the encrypted texture files (and in some cases the encrypted aircraft.cfg for changing the pilots in 2020-native planes) which eliminates customization options. I totally understand the need to protect against the pirates, but the texture files don't seem like a big threat. I think it would be nice (and would probably increase interest and sales a bit) if devs would offer the plane for sale but then post one freeware paint somewhere including the interior textures. However, I also get that devs need to do their own thing and whatever works best for them and their bottom line.

There's my two cents (and that's about all it's worth).
