Remove FSX completely

Hello!

I have uninstalled FSX Gold in reverse order but don't know how to remove FSX entries from the Registry. There are also some scattered files (audio, panel, etc.) on HD and it could take forever to hunt down every single file.

I am also nervous about using a Registry cleaner because I've read it can wreak havoc on your system, depending on what it removes.

Is there a be-all, end-all removal tool that will actually "scavenger" for any/all FSX entries throughout the entire hard drive and remove them safely so I can perform a fresh install?

Thanks!

Darrin

It's about FSX-SE but the same goes for FSX.

Geez, when I look in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE ► Software ► Wow6432Node ► Microsoft ► Microsoft Games I see entries for software other than FSX. So deleting that key might not be such a good idea.

Expand that key and delete the FSX key if you wish.

Oops...one more quick question

So, I don't need to run this kb928080 to clean out any remaining pieces of FSX in Registry?

Or run a licensing reset tool to avoid the 1722 error?

I ran across this tidbit on another forum.

If you use Ccleaner, select the registry tab and run a scan.
It'll find whatever is left over and you can remove it.
