I've tried to disassemble the allrunways.bgl with BGL Analyze and done so but SCASM 2.96 can't seem to reassemble it.

allrunways.bgl hold all of the runways from what I can tell BUT I think during my building of my euro install I saw that Midway also has another set of runways that are not in the allrunways.bgl. They look like old FS98 style runways.

fssc cannot exclude something it didnt place.these are cfs2 default runways placed in fixed places around the globe.How to remove them ?

FSSC excludes do indeed remove stock runways. What it won't exclude are buildings and other scenery objects, including runways, that are placed into the GSL. What an FSSC exclude also doesn't do is remove the entries for the stock runways from the "Start Location" drop-down list. Could these other runways be ones that were placed as scenery objects in the GSL by some other scenery add-on that you installed? Are there entries for them in the "Start Location" drop down list?

Just fishing.

PS: UT. thanks for the heads up about the GavinC pack. Pretty neat. Does it relocate the runways to better fit with Rhumbas mesh or does it just give each stock runway its own easily activated/deactivated AFD and visible runway?

I JUST INSTALLED THE GAVINC FILES BUT YOU CANNOT move OR DELETE THE stock RUNWAYS even by removing the specific layout.

If i go ahead and take an arial pic of MIDWAY with just the stock runway i could load it to FSSC and exclude it ? save and place again ? if yes then i can easily place a runway in the correct spot again .

The layouts have nothing at all to do with the removing runways- unless the runways are scenery objects that were placed using MB for eye candy purposes only. The runways that you choose from the start location drop down list are a totally different ball of wax. They are bgls and the bgl for them needs to be either excluded or else deactivated. What GavinC's utiltiy allows you to do is pic and choose which runways bgls and runways entries (on the start location drop down list) you want to get rid of by removing that specific AFD and runway bgls from the SCENEDB\afdfiles\scenery folder and the SCENEDB\runways\scenery folder.

FSSC will exclude the visible runway only. It will not remove that runway from either the stock cfs2afd.bgl or from the stock cfs2 allrunways.bgl. In order to do that, GavunC little package seems to be your best bet.

Now to remove the scenery objects such as trees, houses, eye-candy runways, etc.. you need to add or remove them from the GSL layer using any number of different tools. GSLEdit from Martin Wright comes to mind and may have been included in GavinC pack.

Midway Scenery

Hi Dog1
I notice that you are working on MidwayScenery.
I did some work on this a few years ago. Just look up entries by stuart277.
The file has instructions by Otis on how it worked for me:
We need to remove the default runways at Midway. We can do this using an Exclude switch in the Scenery.cfg file in the main CFS2 directory. Open the file "Scenery.cfg" and add the following to the end of the file.

; *** xxx is the next number in the sequence, see previous entry
[Area.xxx]
Group=Midway
ID=Midway Sand Island
Title=Midway Sand Island no objects
Active=TRUE
; *** yy is the next number in the "Layer" sequence, see previous entry
Layer=yy
Local=SCENEDB\Midway 1942
Exclude=N28 12.65,W177 21.03,N28 11.75,W177 19.06,objects
Remote=
Required=FALSE

Update the xxx and yy appropriately based on the previous entry in the sequence. When you start CFS2, this will then automatically appear activated in the Scenery Library as "Midway Sand Island no objects".

These can be found at FlightSim.com
Just go to the search engine and enter "midway42.zip"

Cheers
Stuart

I did that after downloading the file last weeck but nothing happened.My plan was to use the textures/scenery only and rid everything else then rebuild with MW to my liking.no mesh adjustments etc . do you know where i can find runways objects ? i have found only the texture files for the default scenery runways.i found 4 runway api images at MW website but how do you convert them for use as GOB objects ?

Hi MR, GavinC's pack repositions several bases (very slightly) to minimise the runways in water problem you can get with Rhumbas mesh.

Not thinking of breaking the graders out again are we?:a1310:

Hehe. They have been hard at work. See my latest "album" in the gallery section for update. Taking it slow and easy.
