Removing those horid water tanks from Europe

Grunau that top picture is that near Hohne and Bergen in Germany I recognise that for some reason?
No not really, but I think especially the first one is a more common object in some places. It has a nice restaurant on top;-) BTW: it´s (to give you a better relation than naming some tiny cownests) near Duesseldorf (15 miles), closer to the dutch border!

If you consider this, those more historic watertowers are as much fun for VFR as are Lighthouses! Great Landmarks for navigation.

Someone should seriously take them into account for their next scenery (city, country, area) projects. I always liked those towers a lot and we have a lot of them around here:

Yeah when I was staying with my mate who's in the Army there was a watertoweer that looked exactly like the one in your first picture the one with the restaurant on, it was huge and we didn't know what it was until this thread lol!

So, I guess when your flying outside of the States and get " temporally disoriented" dropping down and reading the name on the water tower is out of the question? :bump:

We don´t put the names of the places on them really. That would be way too easy for any pilot, wouldn´t it....:173go1:

Not many water towers here either. The water lies up in them thar hills.........

Here's my supply. (don't use much - it makes the whisky taste funny......)

Yep you won't have any luck. We place signs with the town's name along the road where you enter the town. And we put houses so close to each other that you can't land between them with an plane.

Cheers
