Repaint for Piglet's A-12A Avenger II

I'm having a go at the blue/white U2 style....early days...as I need to do the stripe around the edge from scratch...which means it needs aligning on 6 separate image sections.

The leading edges at the wingfold do odd things....one reason I shied away from the edge striping in the past...so that 'lump' in the blue will take a bit of fudging to hide...;)

This IS Awesome. Best of the bunch I think.

Awesome! That leading edge is a no-go with my low res paint kit.

Another must have repaint......

Tommy

Tommy...yes, even at 4096 you're chasing single pixels in an attempt to get the stripe looking even remotely right. The model does 'interesting' things shape-wise along that edge...;)

Of course...now that I'm getting my head around this stripe I'll have to look at the T'birds' paint again....and see if I can't do the more 'correct' nose striping...;)

dvj ...those screenies look half-way decent....can't possibly have been my skin...;)

Meanwhile....here's why the stripe causes so much grief....the thin blue line above has one bend in it...at the wingfold...yet forward of that the line clearly isn't straight - compared with the thick line. I'll need to dog-leg the thin line just to give the white in between a chance to be even...;)

A straight line with 5 corners....
...to get that thin line on top...6 straight lines with 5 bends in it.....now what's the bet it won't mirror to the other side without some swearing? ...;)

Edit...Yep...needed a bit....but after half a day of tinkering it's getting closer...;)

From the looks of your artwork it appears you've mastered the templates. Your creativity shows nicely. Well done. :applause:

I'm still working on 'mastering the templates' .... found a few more bits to per-pixel align. Hopefully I can apply some logic to the layer choices and upload a 'conservative' version of it as a Paintkit for others to mess with....;)

Hello JAFO,

Just had to pop in to say a huge thanks - in particular for the DFRC scheme, with the fixed lettering option, no less. The metal looks awesome - all the various panels with different shades of polish - looks just superb. With all this work you've done, there really is something for everyone.

Many kind thanks!

DL

Glad you guys are liking them. I'm still finding ways to improve the layer make-up ... latest trick was to remove the 'Danger Jet intake' graphics onto their own layer so as to have options for white or red [removal was needed because of the shark-mouth].

Every now and then I confuse myself....doubling up of texts....;)

Edit.....eagles' eyes and a shark's mouth don't make a lot of sense....so a little rework...;)
