Here's the latest WIP of the Hellenic Air Force Thunderstreak 52-6789 from 345 Sqdn. based at Larissa in 1972-83, the last unit to fly the F-84F anywhere in the world. Need to alter the tank textures, hence she's shown with munitions. Hope to publish later this week.

Thank you. This is much appreciated, even though I do not have the plane. These planes indeed saw long service with the HAF.

technically it'd be the 3402 FB Sqn, 345 didn't fully step up till 1975 with the F-84F, From the HAF Website....

"In May 1975 the 3402 moved to 133 FB Sqn SM (Kastelli) and then a month later to Larissa. on the 8th February 1975 3402 FB Sqn was renamed to 345 Squadron on the 13th September 1975 and to using the F-84F"

Great work though, keep it up!

Thanks for the info Matt. I believe they carried the same paint job until their retirement so I guess the date is anywhere 1972-83??

yeah pretty much... different squadron naming pre '75 but that's about the only major difference (as well as their base)... Kastelli is what is now Heraklion Airport on Crete, and Larissa... well... that's always been Larissa, a city very close to my heart (where i picked up the aviation bug as a youngster watching HAF F-4E's and F-104's etc...)

...on a different note... glad i ain't the only Midlander abouts these forums!
