Requesting some help from anyone with a German language CFS2

Hi all

I am in the beginning stage of building a Luftwaffe historic campaign, "Jagdgeschwader 11 in der Reichsverteidigung von 1943 bis 1945".

I need the stock pilot radio calls in German. Would anyone be willing to send me the .gvi and .gvr files found in the CFS2/SOUND/radio folder? (Just the usa, not the Japanese). Please PM me if you can help and I will give you my email address.

Thanks for any help.

Capt.....

...just curious but wouldn't the CFS1 game have the stock in German since it was set for Europe. Assuming that the gvi., structure, etc are the same

Hey Captain,

I do have in my CFS2 sound action folder a lot of German "scuttlebutt" as wav-files (landinggear down, bombs away etc.). Don't know where they came from, but if you would like to have them, send me a pm and I'll see what I can do to get them to you.

Regards, hertzie.

Thank you Hertzie. PM on the way.

The Franz von Baron files are scrambled. "Ich bin getroffen" plays for almost everything rather than I'm hit, aircraft burning, I'm losing oil, I'm hurt etc. and other phrases play for the wrong messages. I'll download it again in case it was corrupted the first time.

The CFS1 files for German are just English with a silly German accent. Think Sergeant Schulz on Hogans' Heroes TV show. :biggrin-new:

Hmmmmmm...

...I haven't played it since my other comp. passed on but I do recall that I had some missions with pure German in it and not Sgt. Schultz. Maybe it was a download? See if I can locate anything.

So if I am mistaken someone please let me know. Are the German language CFS2 version pilot voices recorded in German or are they still in English? If they are the original English I don't need them.

Unfortunately the Franz von Baron files are pretty garbled up. Remaking the gvt files to match the German phrases from CFS1 which he uses will be a huge task which I would very much prefer to avoid. :culpability:

If the German language CFS2 pilot dialogs are in German, I would really like to have them. Anyone?

Thanks in advance

I don't know about the German version of CFS2, but the French one has original English and Japanese pilot voices. Only subtitles are in French. Maybe the German CFS2 works the same way...

Hi Kurt,

"If the German language CFS2 pilot dialogs are in German, I would really like to have them. Anyone?"

I am afraid, they are not in German. English and Japanese only with German subtitles.

But I will look if I still have CFS 1 and if I am not mistaken this has German voices.

Cheers

Achim

Thank you Achim.

Well that's too bad then. I will appreciate you checking CFS1 for me though.

I believe the Franz von Baron voice pack, and also the Ground Crew voice packs are taken from the German language CFS1. My USA version has the silly fake German accented English recordings.

The problem with the von Baron voice pack is with the .gvt files (the displayed text) not matching the voice, or with the same voice recording being used for multiple different text messages. Plus there is an error loading the last voice and message on the list in most of the files. It freezes the reader, so I can assume it would cause CFS2 to freeze as well when the game selects that particular message to play.

Danke in advance.

CK............

...........found a copy of CFS1 and checked the sound files of the German sounds of "Tallyho", forget about it sounding German. Sounds more like Kurt Jurgenson.
