Revisiting Bede BD5

The AlePlane was at EAA this year. The wood texture of the barrel painted on the back half was extremely well done. (I found four BD5Js and one with the piston engine. Don't know if it was an A or B.) I do have the IRIS BD5 but I think I'll get the tribute pack too just so I can have the Silver Bullet scheme.

Hirth going bankruptcy shortly after Bede started delivering kit, a wide range of engine have been scratch-adapted by kit owner willing to complete their BD5.

I recall reading an article, in the EAA magazine back in the 80's, about adapting the Kawasaki 1300/6 m/c engine for the Bede. From memory there were a couple flying with these powerplants. Would sound good.

Almost finished - quite a pain to adjust these wing fairing red flash, but the result is worth taking the time.

:wavey: Thank you so much L'iguane! When you first said you were revisiting the Bedes I was going to request this color scheme.:jump:You read my mind!
Any chance you can do the similar scheme on the prop?

Hi Horus,
I might rework the propeller version also, I'm dreaming about the BD5-TP set up with a qantum small turboprop. Impressive range with performance slightly below the jet version.

So yes this paint might be done !

All 3 liveries above uploaded fs2004 civilian jet skin section

Hello Roland
Im' glad you enjoy it !

I don't have FSX, so unable to test the glass texture, you can either choose to remove glass.bmp from texture folder or use any other FSX glass/canopy texture renaming it glass.bmp.

Let me know

A shiney Red Bull texture?
We can go on for ages like this.. Imagine..
USAF, Marines RAF, Red Arrows.... the list goes on.
I recall, years ago, there were many textures done for the LIC Christen Eagle II, & we had fun with those.
