• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

One of the early pioneers of CFS 2 land class and textures has a birthday today!

:birthday2:birthday2:birthday2:birthday::birthday::birthday::birthday2:birthday2:birthday2

Happy Birthday Richard!

I'm still using your landmark "Tropical Landclass" in my PTO and CBI installations and seasonal textures in all of my ETO & USA installations. Quite a legacy some 7 or so years after their initial upload.

WoW Jan 1st eh?

More like Scenery God. LOL!

Happy Birthday Rhumba! :wavey:

Many thanks.

( ...but it's not really my birthday )

I'm playing around with Luis Sa's gmap javascript:

http://www.ptsim.com/sbuilder/gmaps.htm

Google let's you use the Google Maps API from a file, as well as from a website.

Luis' code uses ASP, which is a no-no using a non-asp website server, or an XP home edition desktop. So first I'm converting his code to use HTML amd javascript only, and have it run on FireFox or IE6 ( Sorry... I don't have IE7 ). Then I'll eventually try to make a new JS program to take a coordinate pair, and make a window that fits an LOD8 sized image... for use with Ground2K, or SBuilder.

Then you'd be able to click on a internet HTML file, and have it run on the desktop, downloading the map from Google, without needing to visit anyone's website.

This will keep me off the streets for a few days.

Luis' web program is much improved, now allowing also for MSLive maps and Yahoo maps! I recommend using Firefox with the fireshot screensaver plugin... to capture the full image that is larger than the desktop.
