Richard Todd dies at 90

Actor Richard Todd who played the part of Guy Gibson in the film The Dambusters has died aged 90.

Todd was a captain during WWII and later joined the Parachute Regiment. He was one of the first to land in France on D-Day , shortly after midnight, near Pegasus Bridge. Todd's force met up with the one led by Major Howard which had already taken the bridge and together they held off Geman counter attacks until relieved.:medals:
Later Todd played the part of major Howard in the film The Longest Day.

Todd might be better remembered in the US for his role as the United States Senate Chaplain Peter Marshall in the film version of A Man called Peter.
