Looks like it was all a cunning marketing ploy to sell merchandise.

That said even if it was just one person dying from leukaemia who wanted to let their hair down a bit before they died it would still be pretty reprehensible. It isn't too much of a stretch of the imagination to consider that if he would have fallen onto the tracks he could have de-railed another train and killed many.

The chances of a human body derailing a train are about the same as an automobile being totally destroyed by hitting a common house-cat.

A person's body has neither the mass to significantly affect a multi-hundred ton vehicle, not the structural strength to survive passing thru a single "wheel to rail interface" (read as "meatgrinder")

Even hitting an animal as massive as a steer wont derail a train.

(Note: I'm not defending this lunatics action, just explaining a bit of the physics involved)

The ICE trains don't make too many stops. Once you mount up, you're in for a wild ride. Glad the boy could do something crazy before his life came to an early end, and nobody else got hurt in the process. :engel016:
