Rise of Flight

I know its one of those games you need an internet connection to play it, i bought it a few years ago but could'nt play it, would'nt reconize my connection, so i gave it to my nephew :mixedsmi:
cheers ian

Both Ferry and I have 'RoF', he's much better at it than me ......... :kilroy:
You don't have to do more than let it check for updates when it loads, the decision to fly on or off line is yours.
I only paid A$25.00+/- a little for it when the A$1 was buying around US$1.50+ so I like it.
Check out the RoF Forum here for some further insight Jagd.

Jag I have been flying rise of flight for over a year. The main thing I will mention is that you wiil need a powerful cpu and gpu. I can also report that shooting down aircraft is a lot harder using ROF than CFS2.

Thanks guys. Great insight.

I'm using a lap top until I get my PC back up and running so I guess I'll leave it at the store for the time being.

The scenery in it sure looks good and I was wondering about the CPU/video card needs. Don't think my lap top will handle it, even though it meets the minimum specs per the manufacturer.

Jag I use a e8500 overclocked to 3.4ghz and a asus 460 1gig card along with a 64 bit os. I can tell you that my system just makes it as far as fps count. A laptop would not make the grade.

Rise of Flight has the most detailed and accurate sim for WWI yet created. The 3D world is one of the most sophisiticated and they are building their sim in intelligent steps, you get the world files and the game files for free and then pay for individual planes or plane packages. You get missions for free, but the planes needed are what you acquire. The research and detail of the inidividual planes is superb and it is a remarkable sim. they have very detailed 3D world elements and are adding more. the world map is limited, no Channel yet or ocean, just France and the front lines, and not all of that..but I expect they will keep expanding the map as time goes on, You get two free planes so you can start out of the blue with campaigns. All and all the GUI and the presentation is elegant, and sophisticated and the best flight sim yet in many regards and esp for the WWI era.

It is very demanding spec wise because of the detail and complexity of the engine.
