Absolutely Incredible! :applause:

Our Navigator, having performed impeccably until now, has earned the nickname “Dog Leg” after last night’s “near-fiasco.” Winds at FL250 were 100+ kts. Capt. Sydney’s timing to visit the flight deck was also “impeccable” as he walked in just seconds before the ADF needle swung to life… Good thing all the kids were in bed. We were all shook up, as it seems our “Nav-Man” was way off on the time to station also. “I don’t know what happened, and I don’t want to know…” I heard him say later. Fortunately we got our heads back into the game by the time we crossed over Isla Robinson Crusoe and landed without incident.

Glad to see you made it across the Pacific Capt. That is one nice track you left behind you, and that Robinson Crusoe Island is not big by any means. Congratulations!

Thanks Sir Mike,

It would have been just peachy if I hadn't ended up 50nm south of my intended track. :icon_eek: I still haven't figured out "what went wrong" but it appears my correction at my first (psuedo) waypoint was incorrect... but that doesn't explain not hitting my station on time. :banghead: Looking forward to this change of pace and being spoiled by having 2 intermediary NDBs enroute. :p

Btw, CG on your being first to blaze a path across the Pacific. Nicely done. :applause:

Thanks Jeff, :ernae:

It was the winds... I knew they'd give out from the 100kt predicted to about 40kts over Isla Robinson, but *when* was one thing that helped keep me awake. At one point I actually thought about dumping fuel :icon_eek: or atleast bumping up the Torque setting :p: (actually i use MAP :bump: )

Well... we almost departed for SAEZ last night to make the Embassy Dinner but decided it was better to cross the Andes in the daylight for the spectacular view. We were prepping for departure this morning, when we received a call from our man at Ezeiza. Seems the wx is near zero-zero due to fog; the only way he was able to land was using an experimental ILS. We are relegated (for various reasons) to using the NDB approach. So... we are going to have to stick it out here until the wx at SAEZ improves to the NDB Rwy 10 minimums (MDA of 460’ and 1600m / 1mi visibility).

Btw... as I was departing the aircraft, I saw a (gorgeous) woman... while looking at me... lean towards her friends and say something like, "Es muy hombre!" Anyone know what that means? :bump:
