Turned out we didn't need any rocket-pack C-130's to rescue the US Embassy hostages from Tehran, the Iranians released them the same day Ronald Reagan was sworn in as President. What a coincidence! ;)
 
Yeah, it was, wasn't it? :salute:

All seemed to go well with the rocket packs except for the forward firing ones when fired while the aircraft was still airborne. The 130 is a strong aircraft, but it does have its limits.
 
Talk a bout a 0/0 landing environment ....once the rockets are going off the crew is completely fogged in.
