Roman's Return Run - Squared

At Ballalae just fine. Once again just a little turn around for Munda (AGGM)

The look on the sims rendition of the pilot's face is priceless, especially on final.
"When I return I will chop all these trees down, make toilet paper for the masses & call the company Procter & Gamble."

That was an exercise in cluster f___. Base commander orders me on some kind of low level run to check for "indiscretions" in our newly recovered territory. We stayed low as ordered, also because the winds had turned frigid! ~20 knots straight on. The first mission ended up in parts strew all over the beaches of the western end of Vella Lavella after leaving Ballalae /Bouganville. I had lost all humanoid interfacing communication devices. ( Keyboard, Mouse, Joystick etc..) If just one humanoid interface (microphone) would've stayed operational it would've recorded something like "OH ___ !" "You got to be ____ing kidding me!"

OK - Nuff ranting, restarted. Mission accomplished.

Mission status - No pockets of resistance observed.

One, two or tree flights this evening.. According to my WX man back at base it is not conducive to flying - the winds are terrible at all altitudes. We are going, the mission must be accomplished. Munda (AGGM) --> Suavanao (AGGV)

Resistance.jpg

Made it to Suavanao (AGGV) just fine. A moderate timed turn around for Maringe (AGGF) is occurring.

Trees. I like trees, they make oxygen. But why do they have to be placed in direct line of the runway heading.. The biggest ones at that. It's too bad that my trousers that are laying over the Davenport back at base, have lumberjack 3 ( & 5) in the back pocket.. :very_drunk:

Just before the hard left, 30* turn for runway heading. Looky at that big tree inline with the runway. Just under the canopy.

Another good run.. Wish the weather (winds) were a little nicer. It will be another semi quick turn around for Auki (AGGA).

No worries folks. I OWN the shipping lanes.

Safe at Auki (AGGA). This time the turn-around is going to be a bit longer. I'm bleeding speed due to Mother Nature. Really need a good run here as the #s are close for the other 25 and the 26 - too close and I'm following when prior was leading by a good margin. Oh well.

Taking off for the last leg. The math has been done. Going outside performance parameters, fingers crossed - See ya in Santa Anna - That is all.

Not bad.. Didn't Work. "You can't fool Mother Nature" ( Butter vs Margarine ) Really enjoyed that run when the WX turned southbound. Well.. That leaves the weekend. Got the chainsaw fixed over the week. Going to cut some ................................. Branches off near the homestead.:biggrin-new:

Another "non - sanctioned" flight "may" be in the works. Think six cows, 24 cases of Schlitz, 12 cases of Scotch & 15 hours. Tried it already once with dire consequences.

Wow! if that doesn't get the blood flowing I don't know what will. Crappy day - periods of rain and clouds. Then it got worse, much worse. Clouds to the deck, rain, gusty but light winds and just one or two glimpses of the road that runs next to Gusap. Just enough to get there.

- Ahh, getting close... Arriving at "the pinch".

One quick glimpse - Okey Dokey,, got some bearings.. Need to do a teardrop return without hitting the ground.

Live action shots! Good stuff! :)

There's two electrical jokes in here... :very_drunk:

Paul,

As an electronics tech, the instant I seen the pic, I nearly blew a nut. Hilarious!

Re: video - Thanks! It was too bad I the mixer setup wrong. It recorded the morning news & weather off the radio so I muted all the audio. When I tried to do a rerun of the recorded flight and give it another shot, FS wouldn't let me. UGGH!

Thanks Paul, Jim, Rob, Willy, Mike, Kevin & Miss Nellie for an awesome & historical event. It got me back in the saddle after a summer break. - THANKS!

Yep. That's what I did in the Navy. Avionics tech. It helps being a Star Trek geek to get the second part of the humor... :)

You're welcome, on behalf of the Race Committee. We like putting these things together. Makes flight simming fun.
