In 1943 Rosie came into our awareness...and what a Job she did then..Women,Moms,Daughters ,Wives,Girls...showing their stuff. As most men were in far away places! Praiseing the Lord and Passing The ammo.as they did world over I guess in WW2.:salute:..Vin




 
My mother was living in Vicksburg Mississippi during the war and she said that there were only old men (seniors) and young boys in the
city due to the others being deployed. She said that in the evening, going to and from work, ladies were often escorted by the local
police to and from their workplace/home.
 
The woman who posed for Rosie the Riveter was Geraldine Hoff Doyle. Artist J. Howard Miller posed her for that famous 'we can do it!' picture. Doyle was only 17 at the time. She died in 2010 at age 86.
