RTW 2017 Race Practice #0.1

Right then, I have the baton at OPMR heading to VABP in the Milton F7F-3.

Not flown FSX for 10 months, and it's dark in India, so this may or may not go well... :biggrin-new:

Despite testing that my flight yoke was properly working before the take-off roll, it wasn't working when I needed to rotate. Quick switch to auto-pilot managed to get me airborne before I ran out of runway.

And now the FSX real-world weather has died on me. I've switched to FSrealWx Pro, mid flight.

ETA 40 minutes.

Well it happened. CRASHED, Hehe. was practicing some go around in the night and on the third pass, :banghead: bingo! I ruin some folks night sleep. One thing I need more practice at night when needing to go around.

Went to plug in my mic, couldn't find it. Found the backup mic, it doesn't work. Guess I'll go buy a new mic...

I'll be jumping into practice in a day or two; got me hands full right now. I did test Duenna connections and flight and all was well.

:running:I see that no one has picked up the baton for the next leg, and if this is all the pilots we are going to get together for the RTW we just maybe in deep do-do.

I will take the baton from Vecc to VGEG flying Douglas AD AIJ:encouragement:

:wavey:The Baton is free at VGEG As usual the fog was low over India, but cleared just in time for landing. some luck.

You think you got problems? So far, as near as I can see, the Flightsim team consists entirely of myself, my lovely wife, and Poncho. I am not sure we will be able to field a viable team this year... :banghead:
Pat☺

Wow! At least we have had a few more than you noting that they maybe available for the flight.

Sorry to hear that Pat. It seems to be the new normal now. I suspect people just do not want, or can't, make the 3 day/24-7 commitment any more. There are simply too many other required, or interesting and fun things to do without that kind of commitment. The new car racing games are good competitions and require only 1-2 hours. Team competitions we watch on TV or on a tablet/iPad, or TV. More fun, less pain. :)

I have the baton at VGEG heading approx ENE.
Alphasim F-80.
First distance flight in this plane so not declaring a destination yet until I get a clue on range.
Also this is a night flight over unfamiliar terrain, so if anybody else wants to depart from VGEG and head somewhere else feel free as success is not guaranteed and only partially likely:untroubled:

It's been a few years since I kicked the Hornet so gimma a HU when you're close and we'll do one of the old baton handoff's on the same tick.

No need to guess about these things Sir. We have race gauges to track that and much more.
We need to hook you up.

By the way, do you have Teamspeak (freeware) and a headset with a mike (less than $20 anywhere)?
