Well now I know why I had such a fun landing at RORY yesterday with Accu-sim 2.0 installed. I thought if I turned up the turbulence sliders was only affecting the volume of the cool wind noise I heard. Wrong. In fact I was making Accu-sim generate all new wind gusts! No wonder I was landing in a frikken CAT 6 Hurricane Katrina out there!

I have the batoon, RORY to RODN in the Lockheed Vega.

I just did a test flight out of RORY towards Taiwan to see how much fuel I would need for the next leg and ran into 105 Kt headwinds (right on the nose too) at 30K ft! :isadizzy:

I was in a 777 and it can push through the wind OK, a prop plane might be a different story but a prop would be flying lower and possibly have less wind to deal with.

ETE 45 minutes.

Winds are crazy out here and are jumping 90+ degrees at a time and several times have gone right around the compass dial in just a few seconds. The good thing is they are mostly on the tail when steady at 50+ knots.
