At altitude and settled in for the lonely trek across the Indian Ocean. Of course I forgot to install the VC lights fix for the Dave Garwood Mosquito, and it's night time here, darker than the bottom of a West Virginia coal mine in winter. Oh well, I can sort of almost see the airspeed indicator. What's the worst that could happen? ETE 1:15.

Last time I checked the F.A.R. it was still mandatory for a pilot to carry a flashlight during a flight at night or that may extend into night... dang race pilots...

A Flashlight would be useful about now. Been using the lighter, but it's almost out of fluid. ETE 0:20. Still dark.

... Or not ...

FSX lockup again. I guess I'm officially FSX unreliable for long flights. Same "failure mode" as last time. Duenna says "can't connect with FS", and any attempt to interact with duenna from that point results in FSX lockup. Getting a wee bit irritating by now.

Yeah, that way would probably be a tad shorter. Oh well, we still have to go back to Russia to vsist "UOOOOO" at some point! Or we could just go 1.5 times around the world for this practice! :icon_lol:

By way of Diego still seems the best route from here. Baton FMEE to FJDG in the Lockheed Starliner, prop wildcard.

Currently, about 12 miles behind Willy. I can't quite keep pace but we are serving lobster and prime rib with assorted tropical flavored sherbets for dessert.
