RTWR 2013 Open Practice Thread

I have the baton, BGKK - BIKF, P-38L. Weather at BGKK for the takeoff is 1/2 mile visibility, and 55 knots of wind. Flight-19 weather!

20 min out. If the wings stay on, that is. The weather is "stinko", even by Flight-19 standards!!

Baton is free at BIKF. That was an amazing flight. I have never experienced turbulence like this in FS. Not in FS9 and not in FSX. I was watching poor otto trying to hold a course, making 45-60 degree bank turns, and failing. It was when the turns started to become 90 degree bank turns that I decided otto needed an "intervention" and turned him off... I couldn't hold a course either. Or altitude. I was going 6000 fpm down, and overspeeding, then 6000 fpm up. I finally chopped the throttles to idle and carefully made my way down into less crazy air at 8000 feet. Oh well, all in a days work. Made it to BIKF with the wings still screwed on. I'm glad I was in my trusty Lockheed P-38, that's all I can say. She's never let me down!

Reminds me of a flight Tako_Kichi and I had in DC-3s a few practices ago.

Think Dr. Evil when he said...

Sick as a Dog gonna vomit.

Hmm, "The Faroe Triangle"? Sending out the search planes. Baton back at BIKF. Or, if buzz posts his "stuff" before the next person grabs it at BIKF, we'll set the baton at EKVG.

My apologies. Getting the kids into bed, I got the "Dad, can you pat my back?" and ended up nodding off for a few hours.
