Ditto to what Larry said, Jeroen. As we say, "this is why we practice" :ernaehrung004:

Brought a tear to my eye...

I remember my first leg in a practice.

I ran out of gas in the P-38 Lightning in Australia and had to ditch.

On my second leg...

Well you can still see bits and pieces of that poor P-38 on the mountainside in Greenland.

:encouragement:

Hey I did that too! Forgot to fill up the drop tanks. It sure gets quiet when the motors stop running (doh!) ...

Aborted Flight. Low fuel with just 70nm to go. Fuel gauge read 40%. Sucks after flying 700nm. Baton is back at RPMR. Note:Landing at Clark would cut approx. 200nm off the flight. JS

...and not required the aborted leg...

on the other hand, you could have been daring, throttled back a bit, stayed high and gone for a zero-throttle & possible dead-stick landing @ RPLI (and become one of the foolhardy heros of SOH) :adoration: :medals:
Just make sure you can manually lower the gear without power and control surfaces still work. (It IS a practice after all :}
