Russian Aircraft for FSX..... What's Good?

Ce_zeta, What do you mean by not remembering language after years without flying? Anyway, Tu-134A3 manual is probably coming since a friend joined project, Whether hes reason is political propaganda, learning languages, or just really wants to help english speakers learn this aircraft I don't know, but it's good news though i will need someone later to correct grammar mistakes. But I'm not making any promises and navigation systems will be hardest thing to translate and describe.

When manual is coming out I don't know, aiming two weeks but could become a month or two...

I have the lotus sim l-39. I will tell you that it is excellent. I am not a real world pilot, but the flight model seems excellent and the model and it associated features are outstanding. It is a few years old now. But in my opinion, it holds up great to more current releases.

He mentions the Tu-154 in his original post, and in addition, the Tu-154M is not made for FSX. The FSX Tu-154 is the B-2 model, and is currently on version 1.2.2.
No, you should check my link above - Ty-154M has been released for FSX for quite some time now and is currently on v2.03...

Great aircraft, not Russian though! ;)

"PT-154m for MSFS 2004" Where exactly FSX is write? It does not work in FSX and if attempted, too many bugs! Strictly only for FS9.

Only aircraft for FSX is older Tu-154B2 version.

For everyone else since the thread seem to be somehow focused on aviation, I recommend DCS: World, already free with a Sukhoi Su-25T as it's based on Russian military fortunately. Also has planes such as the Su-25, Mil-8, Mig-21, Su-27, Su-33 althought unfortunately as payware. FSX is a civilian simulator not good for this kind of flying.

Sorry, my fault - forgot to switch to proper section on their webpage from my cell... It is in deed B2 for FSX only!

Thanks for clarification!

I didn't remember that the ND Mi-17's cockpit is in english.

About DCS....They have periodically great discounts....A few days ago I bought the Hip for 15$ (70% off) in a flash sale!:encouragement:

True. But it was listed and it is a great example of an eastern block add-on for FSX. Or rather just a great FSX add-on. But wasn't it used by the Russian military as a trainer?
The manual sez: "The L-39 Albatros family of aircraft, designed and built by Aero Vodochody in the Czech Republic, was commissioned by the Soviet Union to be the primary jet trainer for Warsaw Pact air forces, replacing the company's previous development, the ageing L-29 Delphin."

Are we discussing Russian manufactured aircraft for FSX or Russian flown aircraft for FSX. If you include Russian flown aircraft for FSX, then there are a lot of repaints available for many American manufactured aircraft for the lend-lease program such as the A2A P-40 Warhawk, etc. :dizzy:

Any idea of when the MIG-21 is on sale? Or they're just spontanous? I need this aircraft as apparently RSBN navigation can be used with it. However I hope it's doesnt take FPS too badly as my settings are already quite low.

To everyone else arguing Russian manuctured/Russian flown I do believe it should be acceptable to post other aircraft built in satellites and allies of the Soviet Union as nobody will create thread "Checkoslovakian aircraft for FSX, what's good".

Their sales seem to be completely random, though I would fully expect a sale on/around Christmas, so keep a lookout then. I have the MiG-21 module (no surprise there...) and it is quite enjoyable! It does use high definition textures, but it's hard to say what impact it will have on your system without your specifications. Also, yes to the RSBN navigation. Everything in the MiG is simulated and, to my understanding, completely accurate.

To add to the thread itself...

I'm going to mention that Jeansy created a Tupolev Tu-4 repaint for the Virtavia B-29. It's available on Aussiex.org and looks great, so I suppose that aircraft can be added to the list, considering the Tu-4 was a reverse-engineered B-29.

My list on the first page includes Russian and Eastern-European manufactured aircraft, for what it's worth. Also, I'm personally only listing FSX-Native aircraft, as it's hard to predict what problems others will have with port-overs, and what will be perceived as an error-prone addon versus a port-over limitation versus user-error.
