Russian Convoy Martlet on the way!

This is Martlet MkII AM963 Q of B-Flt, No.802 NAS, detached HMS Victorious, North Norway, September 1941. It is believed to be the aircraft flown by Sub Lt Jimmy Sleigh, who scored the Martlet's first carrierborne kill at 1400Hrs on 13th September 1941, shooting down an He111 off Norway. The flight subsequently rejoined HMS Audacity, a captured German merchant ship converted into an escort carrier, for an eventful cruise to Gibraltar and back. HMS Audacity was sunk while sailing back to Britain.

Hardly the master skinner! Be honest, it there is a master skinner, it has to be John.

As the Martlet/Wildcat was used by only two nations, in fact, there comes a point where doing a new skin involves little more than changing the squadron codes on the fuselage... And I'm leaving most of the USN ones to John, who has already done some fantastic stuff.

He is just being Modest, he is one of the greats here.. Like it or not it is true..
Thanks for all the beautiful Skins, and i do enjoy using them..
