Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Russian or Chinese fighters...?

Seahawk72s

SOH-CM-2023
With Bear Studios sidelined does anyone know of other developers working on advanced Russian or Chinese fighters..?

As far as I know, no there are none.
Bear Studio was the last editor to make serious stuff for Russian and Chinese planes. I really like their Flanker familiy, although I wish they would have TacPack-ed them...
Unfortunately, Bear Studios has been totally silent for quite a while now. I suppose that team got fed up with the FS world and moved to other activities...

None that I know of.

There may be a new Russian Helo or two on the horizon. I believe Eurostar260 is converting the Nemeth Mi-2 for FSX. I also noticed that there was an Mi-35 screenshot on the new Nemeth Designs page - different from their Mi-24V. But that is just a guess on my part.

I know I'm a cynic but after browsing through their offerings they seem to (IMHO) resemble a large number of previous releases.....might try the Albatross package.
I can do a comparison with both free and commercial versions.
Colour me suspicious.

I know this is not what you asked, but DCS has a JF-17 and a MiG-19 in development, a MiG-21 and MiG-15 released and a few russian fighters in Flaming Cliffs 3 (non-clickable cockpit).

There is one developer: Flyfreestd
https://www.facebook.com/Flyfreestudio-386034394821248/

They have some rus models like the pak-fa, su33 and mig29, chinese j-20, etc. But their models goes more to the "light" simulation... if you know what i mean.
Anyway, better than nothing! Their products are listed in simmarket.com. Just look for "Flyfreestd" publisher.

After checking out "Flyfreestd", their Mig-29 comes closest to Bear Studios. Not the in depth systems work Bill did for Bear Studios but fun to spend some time with.
The "Flyfreestd" PAK-FA is definitely "light" but their primary MFD are nice to look at with a number of variations and on the fly weapon load outs.

Thanks to all who replied and their good info.

I was only aware of the very light models from Flyfreestd, and thought all of their models were very poor quality. These are often on sales at PCAviator if I'm not mistaken, but the screenshots of the models I saw (including the PAK-FA) were really not seducing, to say the least...
But it looks like their more recent stuff is much better quality. The screenshots of the Mig-29 are way ahead of what I was used to. Looks like these guys are progressing. I'm curious to see what they will be able to do next.

Bear Studio has gone silent and that's very sad. Their models are very nice and they port to P3Dv4 without any problems. I hope they will come back...
