Thanks guys! If you can believe it there are only two edits in the second picture and only one in the first. I love that second one too. If you haven't picked up the new dogfight series from Warbirdsim and Flight Replicas I highly recommend it. John has done a great nob with these Dallas beauties! I will be posting some Bf109K shots soon. Don't want Mike to feel left out!
I love these Rick! As John mentioned, I really think the motion blur effect turned out great on these! I also like that you have the pilot looking at the camera in the second shot. If you might be interested, here are some of the photos I used for inspiration in getting the "look" and animations of the pilot.
As some may know, and others may not (but may like to), "Rusty" was the Mustang that was flown by Bill Preddy, the brother of George Preddy (pilot of "Cripes A' Mighty" and the top scoring Mustang ace of the war). "Rusty" was first assigned to Llyod "Jeff" French, but then was reassigned to Bill when French's tour came to a close. http://www.preddy-foundation.org/preddy-bios/bill-preddy/
Glad to see this paint brought to life, John.. While his score may not be as high, his courage was second to none.. Bill learned of George's death and still soldiered on doing his job.. The Preddy family suffered a terrible loss with the death of George, and then Bill...... They are always in my prayers every day.. Such a sacrifice this family made, not to ignore the sacrifice of others.. I feel tied closely to them after learning their stories from the Preddy Memorial Foundation, of which I will be a member til I die... We should never forget...... :salute::USA-flag:
Yes, the Preddy family suffered great loss! But, what amazing men they were! They are true examples of what a "hero" should be. They answered their countrys call to duty and served with honor! Both are on my list of great American's!
