Sad news...Neil Armstrong has died

My wife called me in during my lunch break and showed me the article on NBCNews.com. It has since been fixed, but for a few minutes there was a glaring error on exactly which Neil had passed away.

Quite frankly, I thought that the first man on the moon would witness the first man (or woman) walking on mars. Now, I think I will not live long enough to see that.

Human are at their best when it is more important to beat the other guys. I hope the Chinese will try to beat the Occident to mars, the only way to speed things a bit... and give me the chance that Neil Armstrong didn't had.

"Honor his example of service, accomplishment and modesty, and the next time you walk outside on a clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil Armstrong and give him a wink."

One of my good friends told me that engineers today look at the Saturn V plans, and can't figure out how to build or replicate that technology, even today. At that time, there was no concept of can't. It was all about solving the problems that prevented the ultimate goal, and conquering them.
