Sad news

Jaxon

virtually there
I want to inform you, that Stan Ordway died over Christmas, I just received the news myself from my contact to him:

.... I just learned today that Stan Ordway died a few days ago, possibly on Christmas day. I'll let you know more when I find out more.
His funeral service is scheduled for Jan. 6.
P.M.

I never met Stan personally, but I was attracted to his story by his nice model of his P-38.
When learning more about him, I found out, he was the youngest pilot (18!) to fly a P-38 in combat with the 9AF in France in 1944.

I have painted a skin after his plane and in the *.zip is also a collection of material about his life.

This is not an advertisement to DL his plane but a note, that he won `t be forgotten like so many of his comrades, at least in our sim-world.

Happy flying, Stan!

Thanks for the notice Jaxon. It's a shame that time has no pitty on any of us.

All of my reletives that fought in the Second World War are now all gone with the exception of my father who is still surprisingly healthy and spry.

"TAPS, TAPS" R.I.P. You have did your duty now may you rest in peace.

Jax; same here everyone of that era is quickly disappearing, but remember this. Thou a person may leave this mortal realm they are never really gone from us ,or this earth, until the last person that knew them cannot recall their name.

Jax; hate to be a pain but do you have the link to what plane for CFS2 your textures will fit? I have several different ones and I have been recently trying to find the textures that actual individuals flew rather than Sqadrons. Just my bit to try to keep their memories alive.

Thanks Jax

Thank you Jax. It is just that there are so many great versions "flying " about that I want to make sure that I have the right plane to marry the textures to.

I had to start delineating my folders as American\German\English|japanese Then fighters\single engine bombers\Multi engine with same subcaptions mentioned, then again subfolders for plane model and within that the plane author\modeler so that the right update go to the right planes.
Tedious but it works in keeping track of the planes and ships
