With the FSX Solomon 1943 scenario almost at it's finishing line, I'm contemplating about the next project. I'd like to stay in the historical mode and want to create something for the upcoming SB2C Helldiver ( and all the other the nice aircraft of that era, of course), as well as the aircraft carriers that already exist or are in development.
I have some good descriptions and sources in the following scenarios of operations in which the Curtiss SB2C Helldiver participated:

- Palau Islands
- Truk Lagoon
- Marianas (Turkey shoot!)
- Bonin Islands
- Jima Island chain (Iwo Jima)

I left the Phillipines intentionally out. The way I work it would take two years to finish that...
Any thoughts or preferences?

Cheers,
Mark

I voted "Turkey Shoot", but any of those listed would be awesomeness.

Seems like the Marianas will make it!
I will take Hal Buells "Dauntless Helldivers" as historical reference. Already reread the Turkey shoot part a few times.
I hope I find the layout and the organistion of the japanese installations somewhere, because I want it to be as accurate as possible.

Cheers,
Mark

"Dauntless Helldivers" Now that's confusing! Dauntless was the SBD by Douglas and Helldiver was the SB2C by Curtis so which one is it??

You are right, of course. Thats playing with words; Buell flew SBDs in the beginning of his career, and later SB2Cs. He also refered to the aircrews as dauntless helldivers.

Great book, BTW.

Cheers,
Mark
