Scenery Question AF2 vs AFX?

Duckie

SOH-CM-2024
OK. So, second time around installing FSX in as many months, I have probably a dumb SCENERY question as I am scenery challenged.

A scenery install instruction says in the Addon Scenery/scenery folder to remove any previously installed AFD’s for the following airports: The instructions give examples like "AF2_XXXX.bgl,” “AF2_XXXX_DEFAULT_XX.bgl”.

Using KATL as an example, I have NO other AF2_KATL.bgls but I do have a couple of AFX_KATL_xxx.bgl files.

My question is should I remove the AFX files as well as the AF2 files?

Thanks

Steve

If you do remove the files you have the question about, be sure to save them somewhere in case they need to go back in! :encouragement:

I used to use AFX when I was flying just FS2004. . .I believe the difference is that AF2 AFCAD's were FS9 related. . .AFX came along when the program was updated to be compatible with FSX. If someone can verify that maybe? It's been a very long time since I used that program as everything is ADE now (or ADEX for FSX).
