SOH-CM-2024
Some ingame cockpit shots of the Butcherbird, an Fw190 A-5.
I basically started from scratch on the shader and low poly geometry front over the early variants.
Most of the stuff is in except a few screws and needles.
Needs a bit of texture tweaking and #1 should be done by the end of the week.
Enjoy!

Usually im not one for a Focke Wulf, but looking at that detail in the VC and the smoothness I may just breakdown and buy her when released. Splendid job:medals:

Mathias, THIS is the bird I've been waiting for. Screenshots look even better than I hoped for.

But what is that little white rectangle at the top of the artificial horizon? Is that supposed to be part of the turn indicator? On the real ones that I have seen, the rectangle is attached to a stick, not painted on the horizon.

I know this must seem like nitpicking...

There's two rectangles at the top, the upper one painted on the inner rim, the lower one attached to a "needle" (invisible inside the housing) which does the turn coordinator job.
EDIT: I see where you're coming from as it appears to be painted on the horizon ball, but it is not, it's kinda free floating.
Thanks for pointing that out, I'll bake a bit of ambient occlusion under it to better pronounce it.

OUTSTANDING!!! That cockpit looks so real I swear I can almost smell it. Dang that is some fine work!:applause::ernae:

Thats amazing work Mathias. What does it say on the blue ink scribble?

Thanks everyone, much apprechiated!
I'll put up a little video sometime next week (maybe) to show off a bit of the dynamic shine in the cockpit which really adds a lot to the immersion.

"Zum Mittag bei Mutti", in Sütterlin, old German handtype. :bump:

Sutterlin is a beautiful script, I was just practing it the other day. Writing like that is a dead art form........sad! Looking forward to drooling on my keyboard somemore! You're a real artist Mathias! Once the Fw is done is it on to a Bf110?:jump::applause::engel016:

Appologies Dave, gotta quote you another time.
There were many different artificials in use.
The one in the screenshots is an Fl. 22411-1 which has the "stick" running horizontally into the rear of the housing, that's why it's not visible.
The A-8 for instance was more commonly seen with an Fl.22415 which had the turn coordinator attached in a more classical manner vertically at the bottom, running right through the horizont bar and the aircraft symbol.
Some A-5/A-6 have also been equipped with an Fl. 22410 which had the turn coordinator attached vertically, too. I decided to use the 22411-1 in the A-5/A-6 because I just like that thing and the 22410 is too similar to the 22426 that we allready produced for the Bf110. Diversity is the spice of life.:bump:
