Not sure, that Dragon capsule looks a lot like a Dalek. The Brits may be up to no good! :icon_lol:
 
Real. With the end of the space shuttle program, the U.S. will rely upon private industry to haul loads up to and back from the ISS. This was a trial run to see if everything worked and from what I understand, it mostly did. There was a small hiccup when the Dragon's radar locked onto the wrong part of the ISS, the result was a two hour delay in docking. By the way, this particular program is being funded by the founder of PayPal.
 
It all comes down to cost. SpaceX has to prove they can do the job for less $ than NASA. Right now it's getting cargo up into space. The real test will come when the gov trusts SpaceX with human life. Doing it for less $ means some trimming in the operation, somewhere; I just wonder where?

Test ain't over yet.

It needs to re-enter the Earth's atmosphere, successfully, and end up in the Pacific to be recovered, successfully.
Those last two steps are probably the most important to continuing the SpaceX program. :icon_lol:
