Hi, guys I have a question about legality of screenshots

an addon flight simulator company not (MSFS) btw that I trade with states that you cant take in game "screenshots" of there products and post them on sites without there express permission now i have never broke thier rules but wonder what you guys think about such a "rule"? and why an addon company would make such restrictions?

I can't understand why the company would be so sensitive to their customers displaying images of their products. Somebody puts up a screenshot showing their plane (or scenery), even if just an average pic, that's free advertising.

Thats rather odd, why would they be asking people to get their permission to post screenies when its perfectly legal to post screenies of any game?

unless their product is in development and you signed a NDA or End User Agreement to not post screenshots, they don't have a legal right to stop you. If their product is sold to the public, they can't prevent you from posting. You don't need their permission.

Why would they want to stop you in the first place? Unless their product is terrible and they don't want others to see it... lol
