WEP would be an over boost. Here is a page from the P-51 Pilots manual. The Spit/Seafires would work much the same way,

Overboost

Overboost is the British term for WEP. Merlins equipping Spit's V (a few models), VI, VII, VIII and IX and all similar reconnaissance versions used overboost.

It figures.

My source is "Jane's Fighting Aircrafts of WWII" and it was published in England. No WEP mention then, but overboost.
